S by Serena Williams - 'Best Dressed' Campaign

Pinch me, because this one is surreal.

A producer reached out to me a few months ago to do the makeup for Celebrity Tennis Superstar Serena William’s new dress collection that was being shot right here in Miami, Florida. They wanted to freshen up the look for this shoot for a look that was slightly less ‘Instagram glam’ and more commercial than the makeup from their previous collection.

The big day arrives and we are shooting at one of my favorite Miami photoshoot locations, Little River Studios, and I have 5 models to get camera ready within two hours. Luckily I had a wonderful assistant, who would watch the models on set while I was doing makeup and she helped me work efficiently and sanitarily between takes. Serena Williams was very involved with every aspect of the production. We chatted and decided on a makeup look that was more of an elevated natural glam since the dresses she designed were mostly cocktail party-appropriate.

The models looked beautiful. There were two very talented photographers Ronald Wayne shooting e-comm in-studio and New York Photographer Travis Matthews shooting the campaign hero images and video in natural light outdoors. The day flew by, the dresses Serena Williams designed made every model look like a total bombshell, the team was incredible and everyone looked amazing!!

The images are still rolling out daily but…here’s a peek at some of the images from the day. It looks like there is no editing on e-comm pictures since I can still see texture ….which honestly, I personally love.
