FAQ
WHAT DO YOU CHARGE?
It really depends on your project. My rates are different for private local clients who want their makeup done for an event, special occasion or private photoshoot vs a brand that wants to book me to do 4 models for a 10 hour advertising campaign shoot. I have do and go rates, half day, whole day and travel rates. The best thing to do is just to tell me about your needs via email at hello@MadelineRouge.com or better yet, contact me here with details.
WHAT BRANDS OF MAKEUP DO YOU USE?
I do not work for any makeup brand and am not limited to any one brand of makeup. I purchase or get gifted a lot of products, so believe me when I say I have tried them all! My professional makeup kit is stocked with an enormous variety of mostly very high-end luxury brands, professional makeup artist lines, foreign products and even a couple of mass drugstore products that I love.
A few of my favorite brands are Tom Ford Beauty, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Make Up For Ever, Pat McGrath, Viseart Paris, RCMA, Kristofer Buckle, Ardell, MyKit Co., Hakuhodo and Charlotte Tilbury. Everything I use is long-lasting and longwear in this Florida humidity, has beautiful finishes, never feels heavy, is noncomedogenic and has ingredients that most people are not allergic, sensitive or reactive to.
DO YOU DO HAIR?
I often do light hairstyling on photoshoots. If you need clean commercial or more common everyday hairstyles, great! If you are looking for updos, blowouts, or more complex editorial styles… I work with some incredible dedicated hairstylists and am happy to give referrals.
CAN YOU DO MAKEUP ON BLACK SKIN?
It honestly breaks my heart every time someone asks me this question. But, YES! 100%. Absolutely. Of course. Any makeup artist who doesn’t, honestly has no business calling themselves a professional. I have experience working on literally all skintones and have foundations and suitable colors to accommodate everyone and anyone in my makeup chair at any given time.
CAN YOU DO MY MAKEUP USING MY OWN PRODUCTS?
If you are more comfortable using your own products due to allergies or sensitivities, that is fine by me. If you are worried about cleanliness, I take working clean very seriously and keep my kit extremely sanitary, working according to current OSHA standards.
DO YOU DO BRIDAL MAKEUP FOR WEDDINGS?
I used to do a lot of weddings when I first began my career. These days, I am extremely selective and take on maybe 2-4 brides a year; mostly high profile or travel destination weddings. I do not advertise myself as a bridal makeup artist since there are so many talented local artists that specialize specifically in weddings.
However, feel free to reach out to me if you think that I am the artist that suits your personal bridal esthetic. If it isn’t the right fit, I will gladly recommend incredible artists who I would wholeheartedly trust to do my wedding makeup if I were a bride on my big day.
ARE YOU VACCINATED? DO YOU WEAR A MASK?
I am fully vaccinated and always wear a facemask when applying makeup and plan to continue doing so, even post pandemic.
DO YOU HAVE A PASSPORT?
Yes, I have a valid passport and am available and willing to travel anywhere in the world.
HOW SHOULD I PAY?
I accept payments in Cash or via Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, Cash App, and Check.
I AM A MAKEUP ARTIST TOO, DO YOU EVER NEED ASSISTANTS?
Sure, send an email hello@madelinerouge.com if you are interested in assisting me and I will put you on my assistant list- be sure to tell me a little about yourself, if you have any previous makeup or hair assisting experience and a link to some images of your work.
