Daniela De Jesus Cosio by Brouj

Doing makeup and hair for a photoshoot in Miami in mid-august can be absolute torture, but when Miami fashion Photographer Brouj contacted me with his concept with an incredible model who is signed with New York Models and Select Models Paris, Daniela De Jesus Cosio, and Miami celebrity fashion wardrobe stylist Anna Ruiz how could I possibly say no?!

We got Daniela all made up and dressed at our incredible location, 1000 Palms Hideout. It was my first time there and I was blown away by this hidden gem of a place. One of the owners is a photographer herself and every inch of that place is destined to be on the cover of a magazine. Highly recommend skipping the studio and rent this location.

Anna brought some incredible pieces including from the local Miami fashion scene including jewelry from Theme Dresser and clothing from Italian Designer Flavio Castellani.

The heat was a huge issue that day. The sun was in full force and there wasn’t a cloud in sight. Normally when the humidity is so intense, I go super natural but many of the looks were evening wear so I wanted to elevate her look and I just had to make extra sure my makeup and hair lasted in the extreme humidity. I applied sunscreen to her whole body, and then just used concealer on her skin. Put a long-lasting gel pot eyeliner ( i love L’oreal infallible), right into the lash line for a smokey cat eye, added some lashes, waterproof mascara, and Tom Ford eyeshadows in Hot Dip which give the lids a slightly slick wet look, even though I only applied a powder shadow. A bit of contour on the cheekbones and kept the lips matte.

The hair was simply parted down the center and eventually was thrown into a low pony to keep it modern and easy to control frizz from the extreme humity and the fan we had pointed on her to keep her cool.

In the end we decided not to submit them to a publication, but I am still quite happy with how everything turned out.

The shots look so cool that who knew it was one of the hottest days of the year!
