Alongside the Vacation Inc team and a group of 8 stunning models, we brought to life the spirit of carefree adventures and beachside glamour.

Get ready to be transported to a time of sun, sand, and unforgettable 80s-inspired makeup and hairstyles.

Setting the Stage for Beachside Glamour: In the 1980s, beach culture was synonymous with vibrant energy and a sense of freedom. To capture this essence, we drew inspiration from the sun-drenched beaches and laid-back vibes of the era. The picturesque Dominican Republic served as the perfect backdrop, allowing us to transport ourselves and our audience to a world of beach parties, surfboards, and endless summer days.

Makeup: Sun-Kissed Radiance and Playful Colors: The makeup looks for the Vacation Inc campaign exuded a sun-kissed radiance and a touch of playful colors. We aimed to recreate the sunlit glow that beachgoers in the 80s effortlessly possessed. The models' skin glowed with bronzed highlights and a touch of luminosity, evoking a natural sun-kissed complexion. Eyes were adorned with warm, earthy tones such as golds, bronzes, and sandy neutrals, reminiscent of the beach at sunset. To add a playful touch, we incorporated pops of vibrant blues and greens, reminiscent of the colorful umbrellas dotting the shoreline. Lips were kept soft and balmy, with shades of coral, peach, and nude, mirroring the natural flush of a day spent by the ocean.

Hairstyles: Effortless Waves and Windswept Textures: To embody the beach and travel culture of the 1980s, we focused on creating hairstyles that exuded effortless waves and windswept textures. We wanted to capture the look of hair that had been kissed by the ocean breeze. Loose, tousled waves were a signature style, achieved through texturizing sprays, salt-infused products, and strategic curling techniques. Some models sported braids, paying homage to the bohemian beach culture of the era. Whether cascading down their shoulders or swept up in loose ponies, the hairstyles captured the carefree spirit of beach life in the 80s.

Collaboration and Nostalgic Transformation: Collaborating with the models, wardrobe stylist, photographers, producers, production company and the Vacation Inc team was an exhilarating experience. We shared a collective passion for bringing the beach and travel culture of the 1980s to life. The transformation was awe-inspiring as each model embraced their role, exuding the confidence and carefree attitude of those who lived through the era. Together, we meticulously curated the makeup looks and hairstyles, ensuring they perfectly encapsulated the nostalgic essence of the 80s beach scene.

The Impact of Beachside Glamour:

The fusion of 1980s beach and travel culture with the makeup and hairstyles created a visual spectacle that transported viewers to a bygone era of sun-drenched beaches and endless adventures. The campaign ignited a sense of nostalgia, resonating with those who experienced the beach culture of the 80s and captivating those who longed for its carefree spirit. The makeup and hairstyles became a gateway to the vibrant world of Vacation Inc, where the sun, sand, and nostalgic vibes converged.

Being part of Vacation Inc's Dominican Republic campaign as the makeup artist and hairstylist was an exhilarating experience. Through the 80s-inspired makeup looks and hairstyles, we successfully captured the essence of beach and travel culture of the era. It was a testament to the power of collaboration and a shared passion for nostalgia. Together, we transported ourselves and the audience to a time when beach parties and carefree adventures defined the spirit of summer. I feel privileged to have been a part of this journey and to have contributed to the vibrant visuals that embody the essence of Vacation Inc's incredibly unique 1980s throwback branding!
